FoodShed Boston (Food Equity Mapping)
Project LinkFoodShed Boston is a full-stack geospatial analytics platform built to map food access and equity across Boston neighborhoods. We combined fragmented public datasets into a single interactive system so policymakers, organizers, and residents can analyze how food infrastructure intersects with poverty, demographics, and social vulnerability.
The platform supports neighborhood and food-type search, radius-based foodshed filtering, demographic overlays, and live counts of food access points to make food justice gaps easier to identify and act on.
Built with React, Vite, Leaflet, Recharts, Flask, Python, PyMongo, and MongoDB, the system integrates 8+ public datasets and supports multi-layer analysis across 25 Boston neighborhoods.
